I am delighted to share with you the news this week that we have been awarded the Victor Watson Trophy in the Houses of Parliament, London. The award recognizes a ‘Young Person of Outstanding Achievement in the UK Printing Industry’ and we feel incredibly honoured to have had our business chosen to receive this prestigious award.
We are very passionate about creating British made products and everything that we produce is designed and manufactured right here in Britain. We locally source all of the materials for our products and our luxury silks and papergoods are printed by UK print specialists.
We believe that being a part of the UK printing and manufacturing industry contributes to creating a more sustainable world, which is a very inherent aspect of our brand.
We would like to thank the BPIF for recognizing us as a supporter of UK printing and manufacturing and for choosing us to receive this award!
On Wednesday, Katie traveled to the House of Commons to receive the award from Victor Watson’s widow, Sheila Watson.

About Victor Watson
Until his death, Victor Watson was the President of Print Yorkshire, now known as CDi Yorkshire (Creative and Digital Industries). In 2007, he was awarded the first ever BPIF President’s Award for Lifetime Contribution to the printing industry. The same year his autobiography, The Waddingtons Story, was published, which recounts saving the business for the employees and the City of Leeds. He was a past president of the BPIF and The Printing Charity. Victor became a Liveryman of the Playing Card Makers in 1951 and, at the age of 36, was Master of the Company from 1965 to 1966. He sadly died on the 25th February 2015.
The Victor Watson Trophy is supported by the BPIF, The Printing Charity (Patron: Her Majesty The Queen) and The Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards.
Katie Craven is an Award-Winning British Designer based in the Ribble Valley countryside. With design at the heart of the brand, Katie intricately hand illustrates each of her beautiful, classic creations in her signature pen, ink and watercolour style.
Her illustrative prints turn the beautiful and the magical into luxurious pieces of artwork that can be worn, loved and treasured forever. She reveals that her designs are “created with the aim to bring joy and magic to everyday life” and her inspiration is drawn from all aspects of daily living, including small magical moments, daydreaming and the beauty of our natural world. Her inspiration also lies in classic vintage styles from eras past, including work by Victorian designer William Morris “who believed the world could be made a better place through the creation of beautiful things.”
Inspired by Katie’s love of all things beautiful, we are devoted to making exceptional quality products that are proudly made in England, created to inspire and encourage the traditions of sending letters and gift giving.
With British luxury at the core of the brand, attention to detail is taken at every aspect of the products journey and we take pride in selecting the highest quality fabrics and paper stocks to ensure the longevity of our luxury collections.
With our studio being based in the rural English countryside, it is the perfect setting for Katie to take long walks in the fells and forests which greatly inspire her beautiful, quintessentially British designs and prints.
